Annual Enrollment for your 2019-2020 LAPRA medical, dental and vision plans begins May 1 and ends May 31, 2019. This is your once-a-year opportunity to evaluate your medical, dental and vision care needs and make coverage and/or dependent changes for the new plan year which begins July 1, 2019.

An Annual Enrollment Bulletin or packet (for retirees age 65 or older) was mailed to your home on April 29. You can view digital versions of the Annual Enrollment communications in Adobe PDF format by clicking on an orange button below.

For 2019-2020, you will continue to have the same plans and coverage options that you have today with the following updates:

  • Enhanced body scan benefit: If you are enrolled in the Anthem Blue Cross Prudent Buyer PPO, we are enhancing the body scan benefit for you and your spouse or registered domestic partner covering 100% of the cost (no co-pay) up to $500 every two years when you use a PPO network or non-network provider.

  • No change in medical or PPO dental per pay period costs for active members.

  • Small reduction in retiree medical plan and HMO dental monthly costs for retirees under age 65.

  • For retirees age 65 or older, new Anthem Blue Cross HMO Medicare Advantage Plan: If you and your eligible dependents are entitled to Medicare Part A and enrolled in Medicare Part B, and you live the defined service area, you can choose the new Anthem Blue Cross HMO Medicare Advantage with Prescription Drug Plan which includes all of the Original Medicare and Part D coverage, and provides additional benefits to you. Click here for more information about the new Anthem Blue Cross HMO Medicare Advantage Plan

How to Enroll or Make Changes to Your Benefits

LAPRALive is our new, secure website where active members and retirees under age 65 can choose their benefits for 2019-2020. Retirees age 65 and older can also use the LAPRALive website to view current benefit information, update personal and dependent information and beneficiary designations for any life insurance you may have through LAPRA or RB&I. Retirees age 65 and older must call LAPRA to make any benefit changes.

To get started on LAPRALive, refer the first page of your Annual Enrollment Bulletin mailed to your home on April 29 and register online beginning May 1, 2019.

If you are not making any changes to your current LAPRA medical or dental coverage and you have no changes to your covered dependents, you DO NOT need to re-enroll during Annual Enrollment. Your current medical and dental coverage will automatically continue.
